Women's Health

All of our doctors are able to give advice and prescriptions for contraception and sexual health. Dr. Fiona Collins has a special interest in this area and is qualified and experienced in LARC (Long Acting Reversable Contraception) including fitting and removing contraceptive Implants (Nexplanon) and Mirena or Copper (nonhormonal) IUDs (Intra Uterine Devices) – please book an initial consult with her if you wish to discuss any of these.

Dr. Fiona Collins is able to provide Shared Antenatal Care with Mona Vale Hospital or a private Obstetrician, and follow up afterwards – we recommend you book a postnatal check at the same time as your baby’s 6-8 week check and first immunisations.

All of our doctors can offer well woman checks, preconception counselling and advice regarding fertility, and advice and treatment for symptoms of the menopause.

Cervical screening ‘Pap smears’ are currently recommended every 2 years for women aged between 18 and 70yrs to detect any pre-cancerous changes in the cervix. This quick and simple tests can be performed by any of our doctors or our trained practice nurse. We can also screen for STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections) at the same time if wanted.
